Potted History: Three years ago, we decided to get together on a Saturday afternoon for a kick around with the local youth in Kingshurst, to try and encourage them into Sunday School. It started with two lads from Lighthouse church and their friends. Although we have not been able to encourage them to come on a Sunday our Pastor, Glenn Pizor gives them a ten minute talk at half time each Saturday.

Over the three years we have seen over one hundred young people come and go and now have a regular core group of around twenty to thirty young people. We have been encouraged by their growth in attitude and discipline during this time.

In 2007 we started looking for a league for them to play in. This was tough since most leagues are held on a Sunday, but finally we were told about the WMCFL. The team then had to decide on a name and they chose the name Lions, and since our support network is from Lighthouse Baptist Church, it was decided to call ourselves the Lighthouse Lions Football Club.

We are looking forward to playing in the League this year and hope it will encourage more young men from the area to get involved in their local community.
