Monyhull is the community team of Monyhull Church based in Kings Norton. The team management is made up of members of the church who have a passion for football and a belief that they can still make it!
Officially, the team formed in January 2011 when we became FA affiliated. However our roots in football stretch way back!
The original team started over 15 years ago when blokes from Monyhull Church got together to play other local churches. This continued up until the summer of 2010, when it was decided we had enough interest to form a league team. Although many of the men from the church stopped playing the team were boosted by many local guys looking to get involved. Only three members remain from the old team before we gained this new vision. Pete Langston, Gareth Webber and Tom Pickett.
Our first season saw us finishing second from bottom in what was always going to be a difficult first season. The highlight of which was a thrilling cup win against Bournbrook. The match, ending 3-3 after extra time was decided on penalties and provided the shock of the round.
The 2012/13 season was a mixed bag. We finished bottom but actually scored more and conceded less then the season before. The team is still young and still growing into the league and we are positive of many years of football ahead of us.
