From Martin Ogburn:
It was a very good, hard fought, Division 1 game today and All Saints are a positive addition to the league. This was in the context of a long lay off for both sides and a heavy pitch with a lot of surface water. All Saints took all three points in the 92nd minute of the game. This was after it appeared that the spoils were shared.
Both sides had dominant spells in the game, with a pretty even first half. A good Obi finish cancelled out an earlier All Saints strike (HT 1-1).
In the second half, City had a strong early spell with clear chances, but with a large bench All Saints were able to finish more strongly today with late possession and opportunities.
It was a disappointing end to the game after working so hard, but City need to take it on the chin as these things happen in football. City need to play to the final whistle and improve work rate and sharpness for the cup rematch next week. The centre halves, Brown and Melia (as part of a makeshift back line, two of whom started their first games of the season), defended admirably for the most part, and Obi took his goal well. Congratulations to All Saints who kept possession well and kept going to the end. We have a great opportunity to make amends next Saturday and look forward to another good game.
