A goal on half time from a direct free kick looped over our keeper Allan Wilde into the top corner giving Chawn a 1-0 lead; it had been a very scrappy half with Chawn shading it.
The second half pretty much continued the same as the first with us making a double substitution on 63 minutes with James Wood replacing Bradley Tiernan at left full back and Josh Chell coming on for Gary Lunt resulting in Rory Taylor moving up front and Josh dropping in at centre half. Our equaliser came on 65 minutes with the diminutive Lewis Cox heading home from a Danny Holland corner kick, 1-1.
And just like buses another goal came our way soon after with Jamie Holder scoring his 19th goal of the season on 69 minutes slotting home from close range, assisted by Rory Taylor, 2-1. The game could have gone either way but fair play to Chawn who continued to attack and create chances and deservedly scored their equaliser on 85 minutes, with a well struck slot past the hapless Allan Wilde, 2-2.
We travel to Wolverhampton & Perton next weekend and finish our inaugural Division 1 campaign a week later against Cup Finalists and league chasing St Mary’s. All the best to Steve and the Chawn Hill lads in their survival battle albeit it is now out of their own hands, whereas we could do with a point to mathematically save us from the drop.
