Clarendon 4 St Thomas Aldridge 2

The opening skirmishes were even with both teams creating half chances but on 13 minutes Clarendon scored and for the rest of the half controlled the game. On 20 minutes they sliced through our defence to increase their lead and made it three on 40 minutes. Whilst we were second best we did not help ourselves by repeatedly giving the ball away and being caught in possession. It was only thanks to Ash Dale making several excellent saves that we were only three down at the break. After the interval we started to get more possession and apply some pressure without creating clear cut chances whilst Clarendon had several goalscoring opportunities. However, on 85 minutes Tommy Wright scored followed a minute later by Adam Shorto, briefly raising hopes of a draw but Clarendon made it four in the last minute. “Football is a game of two halves” and we need to learn that we have to be at our best in both especially against a quick, slick team like Clarendon. Good luck to them
