Corinthians SK 1 – 4 Wednesbury Baptist Church

On a lovely late summer evening SK were well beaten by a good Wednesbury side.
SK never came to terms with the early pace and movement that Wednesbury produced and sloppy defending from SK saw Wednesbury take the lead from a corner. A second followed just before half time, also, it has to be said, aided by poor defending once again.
Changes to their formation saw a better 2nd half showing from SK and during a period of sustained pressure the excellent Luke Ellor fired home underneath the body of the keeper………… 1-2.
SK continued to press for an equaliser, but were caught on the break and conceded another poor goal as the winger was allowed to wriggle along the bye line before slotting in from that position. Wednesbury saved the goal of the night until last and an excellent flowing move saw the centre forward finish well to score a 4th goal.
So a deserved victory for Wednesbury, although it has to be said SK are capable of producing a lot better performance.
We meet again on Saturday and hope to produced a much better performance and provide a reverse in fortunes for SK.
One point to note, it was virtually dark by the final whistle, making football very difficult!
The hard working Thomas Pencheon was SK’s man of the match
