Living Hope 1 Zion City 2

Steve Farley writes

Disappointing result. We did enough to win it but it didn’t happen.

I thought we bossed the first thirty five minutes without a goal and then a mad ten minutes from Zion turned the half on its head.

It all started with a bizarre LHC corner which was cleared but with two Zion defenders left pole axed and lifeless in their own six yard box. Everybody played on and before we knew it Thomas Queensborough had won a penalty up the other end only for Catl to tip it round the post. Another fine save enshewed from the corner but Zion kept pressing and finally scored just before half time.

In the second half LHC responded well and finally equalised through Gregg with half an hour to go. This should have been a springboard to victory but Zion were having none of it. Their winner came with ten minutes left. A deep free kick into our six yard box was allowed to bounce and we all know what happens if you don’t meet the ball…..

Zion haven’t done us any favours this season – guys you owe us one when you play Pye Green! Good luck!
