Living Hope 2 – 5 Zion City FC

Match Report written by Zion City FC Team manager Michael Clarke

The teams have met four times this season and the matches have been competitive whilst still maintaining the Christian standard of the league. The Cup Final started with LHC on the attack and pegging Zion City back and it was no surprise when LHC took the lead from a penalty spot, which was dispatched with confidence. LHC continued to press playing some good football, but against the run of play Zion City equalised via an unfortunately own goal. LHC were still playing some good football and again Zion City FC scored. Bawo Jarrett scoring from a deflected overhead kick.

HT – LHC 1 – 2 Zion City

The 2nd half started with Zion City going on the attack using their pace…but we again were pegged back by a well worked goal by LHC on the right.

Zion City started to play better, using the width of the pitch. It was not surprise when Zion City took the lead with Michael Reid scoring. LHC Started pushing for the equaliser which left spaces and were punished with further goals from Darren Hill and Arun Sanghera.

Congratulations to LHC for winning Division 3 and best of luck in Division 2.
Steve Farley and I have a good sporting relationship over the season, so well done Steve and the team.

Thank you Zion City FC for all your support during the season. Let’s carry on this form for next season. It has been a pleasure playing in the WMCFL. Looking forward to next season.
