After six league losses against BH we finally – at long last – managed to win a game against them. The score line was a fair reflection of the game I think and LHC deserved the win.
With two goals in each half we scored our first after about five minutes. Nick won the ball in midfield , laid it off to Ben who found Pete inside the penalty area. A smart change of direction gave him plenty of room to pick his spot and shoot past the keeper. 1-0
The second goal came 5 minutes before the break and saw Nick involved yet again with a perfect through ball for Gregg to burst through and score.
BH’s best chance came just before half time when Robbie and Chrissy T got too close together and their number 12 cut through the pair of them before hitting his shot narrowly over the bar.
Our third goal was rather fortunate. Josh curled a left footed corner into the near post only to see a BH defender slice it into his own net. The ‘Sky’ cameras dotted around the pitch deemed the ball would have gone on in if left to its own devices so Josh gets credited with the goal!
Ben had been knocking on the door all game without any success but his goal finally came from a long ball from new signing Martin Nichols, a dummy by Nathan and Ben was on his way towards goal, outpacing his marker and slotting the ball past the keeper.
A very satisfactory result for LHC and most importantly our second consecutive clean sheet. Thank you Brierley Hill for a good sporting game and a big thank you also to the three officials.
