Unable to field a consistent or unchanged side at all in the first 5 games, SK manager Gordon Holloway had to make yet more changes, as once again the side was affected by injury and unavailability of several key players
However, this was still a very disappointing performance by SK against a hard working Pye Green side.
For the first 10-15 minutes of the game SK played some neat football, creating several chances along the way. A combination of very good goalkeeping by the Pye Green keeper and poor finishing made sure SK did not get the goal their early efforts deserved. Pye Green took advantage of this and their quick long balls forward were catching the SK defence napping far too often as they exposed SK’s lack of pace. Pye Greens long throw ins and long ball game eventually took effect and Pye Green found themselves 2 goals to the good at half time. Even though SK missed enough chances to be in front!
Although SK played some nice football in patches their overall game and attitude was too far off the mark and Green added a further 2 goals from their ‘lively’ substitute to give them a comfortable 4-0 victory
Left full back Glen Davies’ all action display was the pick of the SK teams performance.
With some key players returning and the squad getting closer to full strength, changes are expected by the manager. SK need to improve and play to their potential.
Hawbush are up next with SK hoping for a much improved performance
