Rockmount United 6 Corinthians SK 3

It would appear that SK just do not like playing Wednesday nights!
With a few players missing and taking far too long to get out of the blocks SK found themselves a goal down in the first few minutes! A blink of the eye and it was 2-0 to Rockmount, when a thumping header was despatched passed SK’s helpless keeper Dickie Stanford.
SK were struggling to come to terms with a slick, quick moving Rockmount United side and it was almost like they had forgotten how to do the basics! 3-0 followed and soon became 4-0, before Luke Ellor broke from midfield to slot home expertly. Then for the 2nd game in a row a SK player was dismissed for bad language! A hard lesson learnt and a very difficult task ahead. SK reverted to 3 at the back and the goal gave them a lift. A good move down the right saw debutaunt Mick Finns cross handled in the box, penalty! Up stepped Dec Rigby to slot home……. Half time 4-2 to Rockmount.
The second half started and SK continued to apply pressure and looked a different side now, Tom Pencheon broke clear to score his 4th goal of the season and it was game on at 4-3. Then 2 excellent chances were missed for SK to equalise before Rockmount broke to score again 5-3. SK huffed and puffed leaving holes at the back as they moved forward, Rockmount exploited this superbly and scored a 6th on the break and the game ended 6-3. Well played to Rockmount.
There is plenty to work on for SK as they visit Pye Green on Saturday determined to display a much improved performance, with players returning to bolster the squad. Time to show what we can do.
