Kovacs’ Kolumn 3rd September

Frantic week so far, apologies that I haven’t been able to complete my pre-season predictions but it will be on soon. Thanks go out to the Club Secretaries from St Mary’s, Rowley College, St Thomas’ Aldridge, Corinthains SK, St Michael and Hawbush for sending in Match Reports regarding their games last Saturday. It would be great to get back to the levels that we used to have regarding Match Reports being sent in. Not sure if it’s unique to our League but it does give it that extra touch. So please, let’s see more entries coming forth. I will review last Saturdays games with tonights matches tomorrow but here’s a quick forecast on how i see things panning out tonight. (Please remember, this is just my personal view on things and not to get too hot under the collar about them. Indeed, I’ve had one chap querying why I tip a certain club to always lose, (not sure i’ve always done that? I’m sure I tipped them to win at least once! Anyway, there’s nothing personal in my forecasts, i’m just like the pundits on Sky Sports on a Saturday giving their predictions). Tonights predictions, short and sweet;

South Rd has its first Local Derby game with Brierley Hill AOG playing Hawbush. Both teams lost their opening game but I reckon they will each end up with their first point of the season tonight, Draw.

Renewal Solihull vs Selly Oak Methodist is an interesting one. Solihull may just be too strong for Selly Oak so I’m going to go for another 3 points to the Solihull lads, Solihull Win.

Sandwell United dropped down a Division and tonights opponents, Dudley Lions, finished strongly last season finishing 3rd in Division 3. Like the match above, I reckon the end of season form will have a bearing on this result, Dudley Win.

The last of tonights games sees Corinthians SK face Wednesbury Baptist Church. Again, a relegated Club facing a top side from last seasons Division 3. My head says Wednesbury Baptist, but my gut says a draw or possibly even a close win to SK. So now I’ve covered every eventuality what’s my forecast? I’m tipping a Draw.
