For those of us who have been around for some considerable years I have the unfortunate task to pass on some sad information. Back in the late 90’s there was a team in the League called Aldridge Parish. They won the League Cup in 1997 following it up with two Division 1 titles in 1998 and 1999. They were a very impressive side and one of their players was called Ed Hill who if i am correct was quite prolific in finding the net, he is 43 now, so would have been around 25ish at the time. His Dad, Rob, used to come and watch him play and that was how he came to know about the WMCFL. Rob then became involved in the running of the League stepping onto the Committee in the role as Treasurer, a role he has held for around 12 years. 2 years ago, Rob’s son, Ed and his wife Emma had a daughter who they named as Milly. She was born with some health problems and had been under medical attention for all of her life. Sadly, 1 day short of her second Birthday, Milly lost her battle and passed away peacefully in Emma and Ed’s arms. There were quite a few people within the League who knew about Milly’s ongoing battle and Rob, on behalf of his family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support. The Lord has taken Milly to be at peace with him in Heaven and we stand assured that by our faith in the resurrection that Rob’s complete family will see Milly again. There are many people still within the League who know Rob and I would imagine a few who can remember Ed. We would ask that you continue to raise the family up to God with your continued prayers offering them support, compassion and understanding in this time of grief.
