Please do not just glance at the names above, please have another good look at each name and the age that they died. 11 names, enough to make up a football team. But these 11 names formed a different team.

On the 1st July, 1916 they were ‘Soldiers In Arms’ at the Battle Of The Somme. Their names are listed in the Battle Of The Somme, Roll Of Honour, 1st Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers.

I only chose these names and the regiment because the battle they lost their lives in was being talked about on Radio WM as I was driving home recently. But the 11 names above could be replaced with thousands upon thousands of names who have given their lives in all wars over the years. This Sunday will be exactly 100 years since the end of the First World War.

There will be a One Minutes Silence before all of the matches in the West Midlands Christian Football League. Look at the list above again, pick just one name out and remember his name and the age that he died. During the one minutes silence, remember him and remember the others that gave their tomorrow so that we could have our today.

I feel it right that there is no write up this week regarding the Prediction Challenge, but thanks to Andy from Charlemont Star for his forecast.
