Prediction Challenge – 20th October + Late Match Report 8th September

Absolutely no idea how the Prediction Challenge went last week as I have not had any free time to check it, but my initial thoughts when receiving the results last week that boy oh boy the write up must have inspired some of you to go out and really prove me wrong. I enjoy doing the write up and I hope you enjoy them, but unfortunately there is no time to do one this week. Work, family and much needed sleep has left scarcely any time for this. Add in, that I am away to Lanzarote again early Friday to see my lad Mark means a write up is out of the question. There may be a delay in the results from Saturday being entered but I will see what can be done. Hopefully, things will get back to where I want them to be when I get back, previews, reviews, etc. Thanks To Steve Rose from Dudley Lions for a very rushed Prediction Challenge. One last thing folks, enjoy your football.

Apologies to Dave and the lads at St Andrews Netherton for only just adding this match report from September 8th. It did not come directly to me and I have only just picked it up.

September 8th.

St Andrews Netherton 4 Charlemont Star 1

After having a big squad last week it was a case of rotating the squad and letting everyone get game time.

After beating last seasons champions on match day one, match day two pitted us against last season cups finalists and we knew we was in for another tough game. It was vital we started well. Last season we struggled early doors against pretty much everyone and often had to climb mountains but we started well again and could have gone a goal up early doors. We lost Taughy early doors to a back injury and it meant Jack Jefferson come off bench earlier that expected. Jeffy made an instant impact setting Robbo free to smash the ball home to make it 1-0 Just before the half time interval we doubled our lead and it was that man Robbo again, a great ball in from New recruit Hydie. Hydie has been a revaluation at Right back and has increased the average age of the squad by 12 years. We trebled our lead after the interval and it was Robbo with his hat trick a with a low shot. A great turn and finish by Jamie Holder made it 3-1 But within 5 minutes Chris hunter got his first league goal of the season and made the game safe.

Thanks to Andy and his team for a great game we look forward to a return fixture later on in the season.
