After a hard fought victory and a great game last week in the Cup, this week saw us come up against Chawn in the league. The game started slowly with both teams failing to gain a foothold in the game, as the opening 15 minutes saw little chances for both sides. The game kicked into life just after 20 minute when Luke French advanced from midfield to slot home past the keeper from a tight angle to score his 6th in 8 games this season, credit to Ste Worley for the fantastic pass. This gave the home side confidence and they doubled there lead shortly after when a corner was cleared by Chawn, but only into the path of Ste Worley who fired a well struck volley into the bottom corner from just outside the area 2-0. Shortly after, Ste Worley picked up a lose ball and approached the keeper only to see his shot blocked, luckily he followed it up to square for Andrew Tilley to slot home from all of 1 yard. 3-0. The half time whistle blew, and in a half of only 3 chances we thought this flattered us a little in a pretty boring first half. HT 3-0.

The second half started brightly with the away side quickly out the blocks looking to reduce the deficit, but similar to last weeks Cup game, we had an in form goalkeeper Adam French who claimed everything again. Shortly into the second half we made a couple of subs with Ricky Peddie coming on for the injured John Morris (solid again in DM) and Andrew Oakes coming on for Andrew Tilley (great finish from a yard). This gave us a lift and more energy in the middle of the park, and just after coming on with his second touch Ricky fired past the keeper to make it 4-0.

This again seemed to flatter us but shortly after Chawn got theirselves onto the score sheet, when a well placed free kick was met by the head of GOALSCORER who confidently headed past the home keeper. 4-1. This gave Chawn a lift and they pressed for more goals. The game was settled just after 70 minutes when a beautiful Cruyff like turn by Nat lodge as he created some space and then bent the ball into the bottom corner from around 25 yards.5-1.

The game come to an end and it was victory for Wolves, although not the best performance of the season we are chuffed with the three points and end Chawns unbeaten run in the league, also doing the double over them in consecutive weeks. We have a week break now, hopefully get a couple players back rom holiday and use it to clear up a few niggles to be at full strength once the break is over.
All the best to Chawn for the rest of the season, we look forward to the reverse league fixture later in the season.
