St. Andrews Netherton 10 Holy Trinity Heath Town 0

Thanks to Dave Chall for this match report.

5 Goals from Jack Guy, a Hatrick from Lewis McGee and a goal each from Joe O’Neill and Jack Jefferson ensured St. Andrews triumphed with their biggest win of the season so far. The game was played on a very cold Saturday morning in Smethwick.

A couple of changes to the line up with Ben Davies and Adam Johnson both missing, Dave Challoner was allowed to hand his debut to Danny Conway whilst Deacus Brown replaced Johnson.

After a tight 25 minutes it was Jack Guy who opened his & the St Andrews scoring, 1-0 quickly became 2-0 when Joe O’Neill scored a rare goal. A magnificent strike. A player who doesn’t score many but always scores special goals.

Lewis McGee soon got in on the act scoring the 3rd and 4th goals. McGee has been an inspired signing and has been deadly in and around the box since November.

HT 4-0

Soon after the restart, Jack Guy got his second, making the score 5-0 but St Andrews lost Joe O’Neill to an unfortunate freak injury and he was replaced by the rejuvenated Thomas Plant. Fran Rizzo also replaced debutant Danny Conway.

Soon after Jack Guy and Lewis McGee both completed their hat tricks. The home pressure continued and a fierce Chris hunter shot hit a hand in the penalty area & Jack Jefferson stepped up and scored from the spot. Jefferson has scored his last two penalties following a poor record from St Andrews from the penalty spot this season. Jack Guy added two more to his total making it 9 goals in his last 2 games. Both Guy & McGee have been immense so far this season.

FT 10-0
