23rd October Update

Before leaving home to attend a match, players (or parents/ guardians on behalf of) and staff members should assess whether they have any symptoms of COVID-19, for example, a high temperature or fever, a new continuous cough, new unexplained shortness of breath, loss of taste, or smell etc.

Anyone showing any of the above symptoms should stay home and not attend any sessions when they are showing symptoms of COVID-19 or have had close contact with a person with COVID-19.

******* League Instruction – NO CHANGING ROOMS TO BE USED *******

Before I start with the review/preview I want to remind people about the importance of following the above statement. We have had to postpone some matches and will continue to do so even if it is only as a precautionary measure, which has been the case so far.

St Andrew’s Netherton took advantage of Connect Sports not playing last week moving into top spot with a very good 3-1 win over Clarendon. So it’s 3 wins from 3 for them and they come up against Rowley College tomorrow who have struggled for the past couple of weeks. I think St Andrew’s will still be top this time tomorrow.

It does not get any easier for Clarendon as they come up against Connect Sports who will be looking to maintain their 100 percent start to the season. It seems strange to think of Clarendon as not being part of the top 2 but I do think Connect are simply on another level.

Chawn Hill Church sit in 4th place following their 2-0 win over City Church which was their first win of the season. They come up against Charlemont Star who also got their first win last week with a good 2-0 victory over Rowley College. As early as it is in the season I reckon getting a 2nd win to maintain confidence is important. Charlemonts defence is still suspect for me so I fancy Chawn to get their 2nd win.

Monyhull Church ran out 8-0 winners over Selly Oak Methodist and amazingly they had 8 different goal scorers! They come up against Living Hope Church United who themselves were on the wrong end of a 7-0 scoreline last week. I only see one outcome here.

Jordan Parkes notched a hat-trick in that 7-0 match as Christ Church Coseley managed their first win of the season over Living Hope. They come up against St Thomas’ Aldridge who have not started the season as well as I expected. I reckon this could be a close game but it’s a Home win for me.

Nathan Flavell bagged a hat-trick for Brierley Hill A.O.G last week but that was not enough to prevent defeat to Dudley Lions who also had Dan Douse hitting the net 3 times for his hat-trick with Dudley Lions winning 6-3. Both teams are not in action this week.

Delph Athletic had a good 2-1 win away at St Thomas’ and will be looking to move further up the table and will fancy their chances as they play Selly Oak Methodist who will be looking to prevent a repeat of last week. I still see a Delph win though.

Thanks to Steve Rose for being this weeks Prediction Challenger.
